I want to start a business in Texas. I will file a ficticious business name and I want to include my husband and son. As a partnership I can avoid workers comp insurance but I dont want to make it a partnership.
As soul owner do I have to make my husband and son 1099 sub-contractors to avoid the workers comp or is there another way we can do it so we can split any profit accordingly?

I have a minor accident where someone clipped my bumper. She had insurance and we exchanged that information. do I need to do anything beyond contacting her insurance company i.e. do I have to go to the police and file a report.

Can someone help me in providing necessary information on how I go about doing this? I know I need to get a license, but I can't find any info regarding auto insurance. I am currently self employed and looking to get pregnant. I have been looking for insurance that covers maternity costs but haven't been able to find any that will pay out more than $2,000 the first 2 years. I'll pay more on the insurance then they'll help me with. Any one have any suggestions or know of any insurance companies that offer full coverage maternity from day one?

are there not any mandatory courses you must take before becoming a texas insurance agent for auto, home, life...

i pulled up the texas department of insurance and all i see there is to study for the exam...
is that all there is.... just study for the exam... take it... you pass and your an agent?

Do Insurance companies require you to have a college degree for the Insurance Agent position or just having your license is fine? If you don't have a college degree will they hire you if you don't have any work history, but have proper licensing. Thanks to all that can help.

I successfully completed the deferred disposition/adjudication it was a class c misdemeanor. Will I run into problems getting my insurance license for the 1st time? Do I have to disclosed the deferred disposition on my application? Please, I'm only interested in answers from someone who knows what they are talking about like an agent preferably in Texas.

I understand that Texas law covers anyone who lives in the same house on your auto policy automatically. Is there a cost benefit to having a named driver insurance policy if you live alone? Is there some other reason why someone might have this kind of policy?

i have a texas license, my fiance still has a virginia license. we are in the state of texas now and he was told he would not be covered on his aunts insurance because he doesnt have a tx license. and i wouldnt be covered either because i didnt have a vehichle and so there for i dont have my own insurance that would cover me in case i had an accident in her vehicle. we are both over 25. i dont understand this can someone help me out?
